The obsession insignificant potential for catastrophe by the LHC at least has the ability to maintain public interest in such projects as the LHC. So you get articles like this that at least slightly maintain the publics tertiary education.

Anyway, the LHC-DOOMSDAY party is postponed for at least 2 months while they fix the magnet in sector 34. Keep an eye on sector 4-5 if you want an advance heads up on when we are throwing the party.
